Putting on the Brakes for TTC

I had my annual cardiologist appointment today. After the ECHO, the doctor explained that due to some concerns they would like to have another ECHO done in 6 months. I happened to have the flu today when they did the test.

I asked if he had any concerns about my trying to conceive before the next ECHO. He asked if I could wait until the test to see what the results were. I also explained I was having more frequent heart palpitations. My doctor consulted with another one and they said they could move the Echo to 3 months and also gave me a portable EKG machine to use when I was having concerning symptoms.

So, DH and I have agreed to stop TTCing until we hear the results of test in November.

Until then I'm going to focus on losing some weight, getting some more exercise to be ready for the big day. I probably won't do any testing for ovulation while we're waiting, but will probably still take my pre-natals, B6, Folic Acid and also charting with just temps. Just to track my ovulation and luteal phase length.

I'll keep you posted on any changes.

That sucks that you have to stop TTCing for a while, but at least it is for your health! It wouldn't be good to be pregs with heart problems. Better get it all sorted out now so you can be in tip top shape!
Good luck with the B6, hope it helps your luteal phase length!

I'm sorry you are dealing with the heart issues. I have mitral valve prolapse, stenosis, and mild atrial stenosis and it's always a concern with something as rough on your body as pregnancy. I know that you will be back on the bandwagon in no time and have all that healthier a pregnancy because of the efforts you are putting in to take care of yourself! As hard as it can be to wait, it's a good thing in the long run!

Well, I have tetralogy of fallot...it consists of at least 3 defects, usually 4...Pulmonary stenosis, Overriding Aorta, and VSD (Ventricular Septal Defect), maybe Right ventricular hypertrophy. I know I had the first three definitely.

What sucks is that two years ago I had been all checked out for TTC and was given the go ahead for my heart at least. Just my stupid medicine kept me from ovulating. (sigh) Ah well.
